- FTP operating system chosen - offered for a fee to VPS or Dedicated Server customers who need storage space external to the purchased service
In the following we will refer in this document strictly to the JetBackup backup system offered to customers with cPanel Shared packages and present information that will help you in the correct use of the backup system:
How often is the backup done?
Daily - all 7 backups are kept (done every day)
Weekly - 4 weekly backups (performed every Saturday)
Monthly - 3 backups per month (on the 28th of each month)
With the implementation of this new backup system, everything is simplified because you can restore your account quickly and efficiently, even without having to call on the services of the Technical Department.
JetBackup has been designed so that you will rarely, if ever, need to turn to technical support, documentation sources, or a tutorial to keep your data safe.
You yourself can:
- download a backup for the account you own
- to create a snapshot (restore point - will be detailed below)
- to restore the entire content of your account.
What JetBackup offers you through the cPanel client interface:
- Full Backups - here you can find the list of backups available for your hosting account and also from here you can restore or download the backup for your account.
- File Backups - if in the previous point you can restore / download all the content of the account, in this menu you can restore file by file or directory by directory from the backup available from the date you want.
- CronJob backup / DNS Zone Backup / DataBase Backup/ Email backups - allows you to restore cronjob tasks/dns zone/database or email account respectively from the backup.
- Queue - JetBackup -allows processing operations to be queued on the backup system so that there is no congestion or server load that creates problems for clients. In this menu you can see your current operation and its status in the processing queue.
- Snapshots - from this menu you can practically create a "freeze" in time of the image of your account. Let's say you're working on something on your website or updating WordPress. It is recommended to use this snapshot function before doing a major operation such as an update or an important change. Through this function you can return to the account status from the moment the snapshot was created. We provide you with 1 snapshot/account which will be retained on the server for 7 days - it is important to note that there is already automatic daily / weekly and monthly backup as already described above.
- Settings - this menu allows you to receive e-mail notifications when your operation to generate a backup - download, restore, snapshot, etc. was performed.
Attention: When you restore data from a backup, the old data is automatically deleted and replaced with the data from the selected backup.
